Creams, pastes, and liquids with push-down tops have to be mailed using a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/pe.usps.com\/text\/pub52\/pub52c4_017.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">strong and securely sealed outer packaging<\/a>,\u201d as these items can open in transit and potentially damage other shipments and USPS equipment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If liquid toiletries weigh over four ounces and are in nonmetal containers and\/or have <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.stamps.com\/2018\/07\/31\/usps-proposes-changes-liquid-shipping-guidelines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">push-down tops<\/a>, your shipment must be triple-packaged. One of the layers in the packaging must include a material to potentially soak up the entire volume of liquid if it should spill.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other guidelines include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Items with an \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/pe.usps.com\/text\/pub52\/pub52c1_006.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">obnoxious odor<\/a>\u201d can\u2019t be mailed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.stamps.com\/2011\/04\/04\/tips-to-ship-fragrances-through-usps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Perfumes<\/a> containing alcohol can be mailed domestically but not internationally or with air-based services.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out the complete list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uspis.gov\/news\/scam-article\/prohibited-restricted-and-non-mailable-items\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">prohibited, restricted, and non mailable items<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ups\">Shipping toiletries with UPS <\/h2>\n\n\n<p>UPS advises taking the temperature and the time your product will spend in transit under consideration. For example, if your product is going through hot or cold weather conditions, it might impact how your product arrives at its final destination. However, UPS currently doesn\u2019t have restrictions for shipping these paste, cream, and or liquid-based toiletries domestically.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*Note: The guidance above doesn\u2019t include toiletries with regulated substances like CBD and\/or hemp.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fedex\">Shipping toiletries with FedEx <\/h2>\n\n\n<p>FedEx doesn\u2019t provide many regulations for shipping paste and cream-based toiletries, so similar to USPS, we\u2019re including their guidelines for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fedex.com\/downloads\/shared\/packagingtips\/howtopack.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shipping liquid-based products<\/a>. When shipping liquid-based toiletries with FedEx, all products have to use four layers of packaging:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Primary watertight inner receptacle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Absorbent material<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Secondary watertight inner receptacle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sturdy outer packaging<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>FedEx recommends packing all bottles upright to keep them from moving around in transit and potentially spilling.
