Sellers do whatever it takes to get reviews, even if that means going against the terms of service.<\/p>\n<p>We first started using ShippingEasy to centralize our orders from our various online selling platforms.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Amazon FBA<\/li>\n<li>Amazon FBM<\/li>\n<li>Etsy<\/li>\n<li>Walmart<\/li>\n<li>Woocommerce store #1<\/li>\n<li>Woocommerce store #2<\/li>\n<li>Prestashop store<\/li>\n<li>Manual and wholesale orders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When it came to communicating with customers, it became a nightmare going from one platform to another, logging in, finding the order and sending a response. Very few automate email campaigns to customers across all channels with different campaigns.<\/p>\n<p><H2>The 32% Open Rate Subject Line that Fueled Our Growth<\/H2><\/p>\n<p>The subject line makes or breaks your email. How often do you open every email in your inbox and read it all the way through? If you\u2019re like me, you have a finger hovering over the delete button as you go through the subject line.<\/p>\n<p>Of all the follow-up emails asking for a review, how many have you responded to?<\/p>\n<p>Likely none.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s because you smelled the cheese a mile away. Here\u2019s our secret subject line that generates an open rate of 32%.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cYour Amazon order {{order.order_number}}\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s that simple.<\/p>\n<p>It works because it is so direct, yet vague and plays to the buyer&#8217;s psychology.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour Amazon order xxxx\u201d means different things to different buyers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cThere could be something wrong with my order.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIt\u2019s about my refund.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWhat did I buy again?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI didn\u2019t authorize this purchase?!\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then it\u2019s up to you to get straight to the point and lead them to your objective.<\/p>\n<p><H2>Amazon Review and Feedback Request Settings<\/H2><\/p>\n<p>Getting the settings tuned and optimized is also key to our reviews.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We do not do any of the following that would go against Amazon Terms of Service<\/li>\n<li>No free products in exchange for reviews<\/li>\n<li>No internal employees, friends or family leaving reviews<\/li>\n<li>No compensation offered for a review<\/li>\n<li>No discounts or coupons for a review<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All we ask is for customers to openly and freely share with others how they feel about the product.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the type of product you sell, your review rate will differ, but even after Amazon\u2019s latest change regarding personally identifiable information (PII), we are still receiving reviews at 1.4% of emails sent.<\/p>\n<p>I can hear some snorting at the 1.4% number. Let me explain.<\/p>\n<p><em>Review conversion rate = Number of reviews past month \/ Number of orders past month<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Consider that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A large number of customers opted out of receiving emails<\/li>\n<li>Emails sometimes bounce<\/li>\n<li>Some emails are sent to a spouse\u2019s inbox<\/li>\n<li>People changed jobs <\/li>\n<li>Recipients may be on vacation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A 1.4% review rate is nothing to laugh at. Continue getting 1.4% and within a year, if you sell 100,000 units, you\u2019ll end up with 1,400 reviews. Below is how we interpret each element.<\/p>\n<p><H3>Order Total<\/H3><\/p>\n<p>We sell consumable goods such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecrownchoice.com\/body-wash-for-sensitive-skin-and-dryness-lemon-zest\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">body wash for sensitive skin<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecrownchoice.com\/bathroom-freshener-natural-eliminates-odors-with-natural-ingredients-madagascar-cookie\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">bathroom freshener<\/a>, and cleaning products below $15, so there\u2019s no reason for us to target by order value. If you sell expensive items, it would be a good way to segment your list further and tailor the message based on order value.<\/p>\n<p><H3>First Time Buyer and Contact Status<\/H3><br \/>\nOur products are purchased multiple times a year by repeat customers. There\u2019s no reason to annoy them by requesting a review every time they purchase.<\/p>\n<p><H3>Product Category<\/H3><br \/>\nFrom ShippingEasy\u2019s product catalog, we\u2019ve grouped the products by category mainly to segment in these emails. By setting the category, we can create different messages per category. The email sent to those who purchase baseball goodies is vastly different to the Martha Stewart crowd.<\/p>\n<p><H3>Buyer Feedback<\/H3><\/p>\n<p>Here we apply the same logic as first-time buyer and contact status above, where I prefer not to annoy people who have already left feedback.<br \/>\nWe set the timer to 10 days after the order has shipped to give enough time for people to receive. This way, FBA will take 2-3 days and that gives the customer 7 days to use it before the follow-up email is sent.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/shippingeasy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/email-sending-schedule.jpg\" alt=\"Amazon feedback request schedule\" width=\"669\" height=\"258\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33862\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shippingeasy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/email-sending-schedule.jpg 669w, https:\/\/shippingeasy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/email-sending-schedule-300x116.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For other channels, you should adjust the number of days depending on your shipping plans.
